Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the physicochemical parameters; parasitological and bacteriological of the waters of these rivers crossing the city of Kinshasa during the dry season in order to determine the degree of pollution. For the physico-chemical analyzes, we took a liter of water each time in the plastic bottles (polyethylene) cleaned beforehand with nitric acid diluted with distilled water and finally with water to be analyzed to avoid any contamination For bacteriological analyzes, we used 500 ml glass bottles with ground-in stoppers, sterilized at 120 ° C for one hour and 20 minutes, stoppered with aluminum foil for protection against sunlight and kept in an oven at 100 ° C before bringing them to the aforementioned rivers. For rivers, samples were taken from precipitated sites to a depth of ± 20 cm in the middle of the river, taking care to place the neck of the bottle against the wind. The results obtained show in general that the high frequency of faecal streptococci, total coliforms and the remarkable presence of germs such as Enterobacterium and Proteus rettgérii in these rivers thus constitute a permanent danger for consumers.
