Résumé
Cette étude a comparé un réacteur UASB témoin (R1) à un réacteur optimisé (R2) recevant des additifs minéraux et organiques pour le traitement des eaux usées des Cliniques universitaires de Kinshasa. Les granules ont été caractérisés par spectroscopie infrarouge à transformée de Fourier (FTIR), et les relations entre les caractéristiques spectrales et les indicateurs de traitement ont été explorées par corrélations de Pearson, régression linéaire multiple et ANOVA à un facteur. Comparativement à R1, les granules de R2 présentaient des intensités relatives plus élevées pour les bandes attribuées aux groupements O–H/N–H, C–H, Amide I, Amide II, COO⁻, C–O–C, carbonate et Fe–O/silicates. Les données descriptives montraient également, dans R2, des concentrations résiduelles plus faibles de DCO (42 ± 4 contre 210 ± 15 mg/L), de DBO₅ (31 ± 3 contre 120 ± 10 mg/L) et de MES (15 ± 2 contre 95 ± 8 mg/L), ainsi qu’une rétention plus élevée du Fe (91 ± 3 % contre 60 ± 6 %) et du Cu (96 ± 2 % contre 55 ± 5 %). Les intensités FTIR étaient fortement associées aux indicateurs résiduels de pollution organique et à la rétention des métaux; le modèle de régression rapporté identifiait notamment les bandes amides et carbonates comme prédicteurs de la DCO. Les résultats d’ANOVA rapportés indiquaient des différences entre R1 et R2 (p < 0,001). Ces résultats soutiennent une association entre une structuration bio-minérale accrue des granules et de meilleures performances du réacteur. Toutefois, le manuscrit ne précise pas le nombre de répétitions indépendantes, les doses exactes d’additifs, les degrés de liberté de l’ANOVA ni les diagnostics de régression; ces éléments doivent être fournis avant de considérer les résultats inférentiels comme pleinement reproductibles.
